As a new owner of a SV650 I know I'm covered for the next 3 years which I like. The thing is I'm already thinking some mods, but I'm not sure if the dealer will void my warranty even if they're installed by their techs. Anyone have any experience with this?

The SV650's a great platform for mods, but yeah, warranty can get tricky. Even if dealer techs install them, some mods might still raise flags. Your best bet is to ask your dealer directly and get it in writing.

If you're banking on a warranty surviving mods even dealer-installed ones, you're playing a polite game of chicken with fine print. The moment something breaks, they'll say "that mod changed tolerances" and leave you holding the bill

that 3-year warranty gives peace of mind. Simple stuff like exhaust or cosmetic changes usually won't void your warranty, but anything that impacts the engine or electronics might. Best bet is to chat openly with your dealer about the mods you want,, they can clarify what's okay and what might raise red flags. That way you can enjoy customizing without worrying too much about losing coverage
