I was out today at the mall, waiting for my wife to finish her spa day... then a random thought hit me. Had a quick chat the other day with a younger rider and he's flexing his Harley with like 100+ cubic inches. All I could tell him is that my 2023 SV is pretty fast for a 650 cc, which he calculated right in front of me as only around 40 cubic inches. Whyyy? We got pretty high RPMs though so I didn't argue anymore with him.

All I can think about is he looks single, he's like a kid who just bought a Harley without knowing what's it for. He doesn't have a wife as perfect as mine.

So I just shrugged off the thought but wondering if you'll ever had this experience?

I can even count how many people fed around and found out. Bigger isn't always better, but you can't explan that to people who know absolutely nothing about bikes and are interested only in loud.

Haha, that's funny. Some guys focus too much on cubic inches, but they miss the fact that bikes like the SV rev higher and produce power in a different way. It's not just about engine size. I usually change the topic to how they actually perform on the road. Have you ever raced against a big twin and caught them off guard?

I remember stopping for gas once when this guy on a big Harley rolled up next to me while I was on my SV650. He gave me this look that was part smirk and part pity. We talked for a minute, then both headed out onto the on-ramp. I let him take the lead at first, but then I opened it up in third gear and zoomed past him. We bumped into each other again at the next gas station, and he just nodded at me. No need for words, it was all about respect.
