I've been toying with the idea of adding a sidecar to my SV650. I know it's not your standard setup for that bike, but honestly, it seems like such a fun project to dive into! Has anyone here given it a shot or know of any good kits that work? I'm also really curious about how it handles with the added weight. I'd love to hear any tips or stories you've got

@BudgetRocketRider yeeeah, it's absolutely possible, though you might not find a bolt on kit specifically marketed for the SV650 from major manufacturers. Many sidecar setups are semi custom or universal kits adapted to the bike

Can't say anything about the sv650, no idea if there's even a plug and play kit, but I can comment on the handling. I drove a bmw boxer with a sidecar and I've driven the same bike before it got upgraded and it's a dotally different experience. The bike feels heavier on one side and the bike always feels like it's dragging on that side. Turning left and right won't be the same and with the car on the right, turning right a bit more aggressively may lift it up a bit. On the other hand, left turns are super stable.

Adding a sidecar to an SV650 isn't too common. There are some universal kits, but you'll need to get the mounting and balance right since it changes how the bike handles
